Ran into issues two years back where someone selected an Amateur and he ended up doing very well, but since there's no money earned, there was no benefit to the owner. Had some heated discussion around it, that it should have been made clear.
So I'd suggest option filter them out of the selection sheet entirely to avoid the problem, or at least an (A) indicator if it is an amateur to hopefully make people refrain from selecting them.

I will add something to our feature request list. We currently don't an indicator on golfers to tell if they are amateurs or not, so we'd need to get that information as well.

Just ran into this issue. Is there a way to manually add money earned to an amateur golfer her placed and made $?

No, we cannot add money for a golfer as their earnings are entirely based on PGA Tour official earnings.
